Snarky Behavior

Tada!  New layout!

Previously, snarkybehavior was hosted on Blogger.  I was actually forwarding my domain ( to a domain purchased on GoDaddy!.

As much as I’m a fan of Google, I was not 100% happy with the Blogger platform.  The rich text composer frequently messed up the alignment of my posts, especially when I quoted other text or added images, and the template layouts were generic and difficult (for an amateur) to customize.

WordPress certainly has its drawbacks:  it requires you to pay a month-to-month third-party hosting service if you want to make significant customizations to your site (including integration of google analytics, or any other plug-ins such as feedburner).  But the ease of composition and the overall aesthetic more than make up for these minor inconveniences (which I can remedy later if I decide it’s worthwhile).

The banner doesn’t really fit well with the new layout so I’ll be making some more changes later on, but for now I’m pretty happy with the change and migration, which was relatively painless. My hope is that the subscription feed stays current.  What do you all think?

I like, but I’m having some navigation troubles. When I click on the “tags” at the end of a post, it takes me to some random wordpress conglomerate of tags, rather than a list of your posts on that subject. I expected the latter, and don’t see a good alternative way to accomplish that action (I can use the tag cloud on the left, but that doesn’t have all the categories). I also really like the monthly dropdown of posts you had on blogger– any way you can do that here?

Interesting. I’ll have to work on that when I find some time.
